Neil Port

Neil Port Jr. stabbed his father, who was also called Neil, during a row at his mother’s home in Hackenthorpe, Sheffield in 2005. Port, of Sheffield, told the court he intervened when his father, who identified as a male-to-female transsexual, became angry over claims Port Sr.’s former wife had called Port Sr. a “pervert in dresses.” A jury rejected a charge of murder but found Port Jr. guilty of manslaughter. The court heard how Port Sr., a former boxing coach who once trained world light-heavyweight champion Clinton Woods, was waiting for a sex change operation, wore women’s clothes and used the name Penny Fletcher.
